We want your Candle Lab experience to be relaxed, creative and fun from the moment you book. Here are answers to some of the questions we’re asked most often.

Bookings & Payments

How do I book a Candle Lab?

Bookings for our Public Candle Labs can be made directly through our website. Simply choose the Lab you’d like to attend, select the number of places you need and complete your booking online.

For Private Candle Labs, you can view our available options online and book directly for your party. Minimum guests 8. Maximum guests 16.

Do I need to pay when I book?

Yes. Payment is required at the time of booking to secure your place.

Can I get a receipt or tax invoice?

Absolutely. We can provide a receipt or tax invoice for your booking if you require one for business or tax purposes.

Can I add another person to my booking later?

If there is still availability in your Candle Lab, additional guests can be added. For Public Labs, additional guests can book available places online.

For Private Labs, please contact us before adding guests so we can confirm that we can accommodate them. Our maximum capacity is 16 participants.

Cancellations & Changes

What is your cancellation policy?

We understand that plans sometimes change.

Bookings cancelled more than 14 days before your Candle Lab are eligible for a full refund.

For cancellations made less than 14 days before your booking, we are unable to offer a refund, however we are happy to move your booking to another available date.

What happens if someone in my group can no longer attend?

Your booking can be transferred to another person if one of your guests is unable to attend.

If you need to reduce the number of participants in a Private Candle Lab, please keep in mind that our minimum charge is based on 8 participants.

What happens if a Public Candle Lab doesn't have enough bookings?

We require a minimum of six participants to run a Public Candle Lab.

If fewer than six people are booked five days before the scheduled Lab, we may need to cancel the session. If this happens, we'll contact you and give you the choice of transferring your booking to another available date or receiving a full refund.

We know it's disappointing when plans have to change, so we'll always give you as much notice as possible.

Public Candle Labs

Do I need to book in advance?

Yes, we strongly recommend booking in advance. Our Candle Labs have limited places and some sessions may book out.

How many people are in a Public Candle Lab?

Our Candle Lab accommodates a maximum of 16 participants, keeping the experience small enough for everyone to receive plenty of guidance along the way.

Can I book a group into a Public Candle Lab?

Of course. You can book multiple places in a Public Lab, subject to availability.

Private Candle Labs

How many people do I need for a Private Candle Lab?

Private Candle Labs have a minimum booking of eight participants and a maximum of 16.

If your group has fewer than eight people, you're still welcome to book a Private Lab, however the minimum charge for eight participants will apply.

What occasions can we celebrate at The Candle Lab?

Almost anything worth getting together for!

Our Private Candle Labs are perfect for birthdays, hens celebrations, special occasions, team building, corporate events or simply getting your favourite people together to do something a little different.

Can we bring food and drinks?

Most certainly! Bring your own nibbles and drinks. We’ll provide the glassware!

We provide tea, coffee and water.

Can we decorate the space for our event?

Absolutely. Bring your balloons and anything you’d like to decorate the table with. Be mindful however that the tables are pretty cosy with a maximum number of 16 guests so there’s limited room for table decorations. We are more than happy for you to arrive 15-20 minutes before your scheduled class time to work on your decorations and prepare your food if you are bringing platters or such like.

Can you personalise our Candle Lab?

Depending on your event and the lead time we may be able to add personalised touches such as custom candle labels to commemorate your celebration.

Contact us before your booking to discuss your ideas and we’ll let you know what we can do and provide a quote for your requirements.

On the Day

How long does a Candle Lab take?

Unless otherwise advertised, our Candle Labs run for approximately two hours.

Some special or seasonal experiences, including selected Christmas Candle Labs, may have a different running time. This will always be included in the individual Lab description when you book.

What time should I arrive?

Please arrive about 10 minutes before your scheduled start time so we can start on time.

We frequently run more than one Candle Lab during the day, so keeping to our scheduled times is important and ensures everyone gets to enjoy the full experience.

What happens if I'm running late?

We understand that sometimes things don't go according to plan.

We can accommodate arrivals up to 15 minutes after the scheduled start time. After this point, however, the class will need to continue without you.

If you know you're running late, please contact us as soon as possible. Text or call 0424 600 435.

What should I wear?

Candle making can occasionally get a little messy, so we recommend wearing something you're comfortable creating in. We provide aprons but there’s been the odd occasion where wax has ended up where it shouldn’t have!

Please wear shoes that are firm fitting to ensure you don’t trip during the class.

Where can I park?

We do have visitors car parks behind the studio. The entrance is off Endeavour Boulevard and just before the Studio. Otherwise there is plenty of street parking.

Parking directly outside the Studio has a 2 hour limit during the week up to 6pm and on Saturday mornings. Please ensure you read the signs and make sure you are in a spot that will allow you to park for more than 2 hours.

Is The Candle Lab accessible?

The Candle Lab is wheel chair accessible.

Your Candle

Can I take my candle home with me?

Yes! Your candle will take 3-5 hours to completely set. We allow about 45 minutes after the pour for your candle to set enough to be safe to transport home carefully. We will provide a bag for your to take your candle home in. You’ll need to make sure that your candle is upright during transportation.

If your Candle Lab experience is on the first thing you are doing in a day’s activities and you are not heading straight home. You are more than welcome to leave your candle at the Studio and pick it up during the week.

When can I burn my candle?

Your candle needs time to cure after pouring before its first burn.

We'll give you all the information you need during your Candle Lab, including when you can light it and how to care for it to get the best possible fragrance and burn performance.

Children & Younger Candle Makers

Can children attend a Candle Lab?

Our regular Candle Labs involve hot wax, fragrance oils and other materials that need to be handled carefully, so age requirements apply.

Participants must be 13 years+. A parents signature is required for guests under 18.

Children under 13 are not permitted in The Candle Lab area.

Gift Vouchers

Can I buy a Candle Lab as a gift?

Absolutely! A Candle Lab experience makes a beautiful gift for someone who loves fragrance, creativity or simply doing something a little different.

Gift vouchers are available online and in-store and can be redeemed towards eligible Candle Lab experiences.

How long are gift vouchers valid?

Gift vouchers are valid for 3 years from date of purchase.

Safety & Fragrance

Is candle making safe?

We'll guide you through every step of the candle-making process and explain how to safely work with the materials and equipment you'll be using.

Because candle making involves warm wax, fragrance oils and other materials, we ask all participants to follow the directions of their Candle Lab host throughout the experience.

What if I'm sensitive to fragrance?

Fragrance is a big part of The Candle Lab experience and a variety of fragrance oils will be used and available throughout the space.

If you have fragrance sensitivities, allergies or other concerns, please contact us before booking so you can decide whether the experience is suitable for you.
