Candle Care

To get the most from your candle—both in fragrance and longevity—a little care goes a long way.

Let It Cure. We know this is hard but patience pays off!

Your candle being fully setting and curing are two different things. Your candle will be completely set after about 24 hours but to get the most from your candle we suggest you let it cure for 2 weeks. It takes this long for the fragrance to fully bind with the soy/coconut wax. Waiting will pay off. You'll have a much better hot fragrance throw if you add a bit of patience into your candle making experience.

First Burn Matters

The first burn sets the foundation for how your candle performs.

Allow the wax to melt all the way to the edges of the jar (approximately 3 hours). This creates an even burn and prevents tunnelling (this is where wax builds up along the sides and reduces both scent throw and burn time).

Burn Time

For best results, burn your candle for no more than 4 hours at a time.

Burning longer can cause the wick to become too long, creating excess heat, smoke, and reducing the life of your candle.

Trim Your Wick

Before each burn, trim your wick to approximately 4mm.

This helps to:

  • Extend the life of your candle
  • Reduce smoke and soot
  • Prevent “mushrooming” of the wick
  • Maintain a clean, even flame

Placement Matters

Keep your candle away from drafts such as open windows, air conditioning, or fans. This ensures an even burn and prevents flickering or uneven melting.

Always place your candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface and keep it away from children, pets, and flammable materials.

Never leave a burning candle unattended.

When to Stop Burning

Discontinue use when approximately 10mm of wax remains at the bottom of the jar.

Burning beyond this point can cause the glass to overheat and may lead to cracking.

Repurpose or Refill Your Jar

We encourage you to repurpose or refill your candle jar once its finished. Repurpose as a storage piece for your home or refill your candle jar to be enjoyed again and again.

Drop your jar into the Studio, choose the same fragrance or something new and we can refill the jar for you.

Vessel Cleaning and Care

To repurpose your vessel, fill it with boiling water to the original wax line and allow it to cool completely. The remaining wax will rise to the surface for easy removal. Then clean your vessel with warm, soapy water. Please note, vessels with an opaque or decorative finish should be handled with care to avoid scratching.

A Better Experience, Every Time

With the right care, your candle will burn more evenly, last longer, and deliver a consistent fragrance from first light to final glow.
